My first attempt at drawing moving water and I can conclusively state it's HARD! I got better as the drawing went on but obviously still have much to learn.
Smooth A4 bristol board, a mixture of 0.3mm/0.5mm mechanical pencils from 6B to 2H and a couple of wooden HB/2B pencils. The black background was mostly completed with my new toy, a 2mm 6B clutch pencil. That sucker shades FAST!

Hi Jon, you mentioned you were doing a 'water' piece, and here it is - fantastic, I think you have nailed the water - it's really good and so alive. I have seen this reference before, I thought about doing this myself, but glad I didn't now - your version is excellent - great work :)

i think that its great that your challenging yourself to try and reach for a new type of drawing skill, and I got to say that for a first time water effect its not all that bad. Good job man keep up the practice and one day you'll look at this and be like "wow i only drew that? I am so much better now." but for the record i think the form of the women is amazing and the water does look like its splashing someones face. Bravo! :]
